Our day to day approach to our work is in keeping with the high standards set by GWLRA. Over the years we have developed a close working relationship with the Facility Manager, and his associates at GWLRA at the Purdy's Wharf Complex.

Halifax Port Authority

We have maintained a long term relationship with the Halifax Port Authority involving large scale repurposing of buildings various tenant fit-ups both large and small and revisions to their physical plants.

Shed 9-A Refit

 

GS Ewert Engineering Ltd. was retained by the Halifax Port Authority as the mechanical consultant to work with their appointed architect on a 15,000 ft 2 renovation and re-purposing of the existing freight Shed at Pier 9 to an office warehouse facility.  We undertook an investigation and report of the existing building, preparation of a design report, recommendations with opinions of cost and tender drawings for a new heating plant, heating, ventilation, plumbing and fire protection system for the addition.

 

Sheds 21, 22 and 23 refit and renovation,   (as Lead Engineer for Neill & Gunter).

Implementation of a concept report prepared in 2003 by GS Ewert Engineering Ltd for the adaptive re-use of these three freight sheds, each with an approximate area of 60,000 sq. ft., into heated, ventilated, air conditioned assembly and office spaces.  Project budget approximately $20,000,000.

(as Lead Engineer for Neill & Gunter).  Implementation of Molson HVAC requirements as well as identification in the design stage of Brewery over heating by process heat build up.  A unique ventilation solution was conceived and successfully effected.  Project budget approximately $35,000,000.00

Encana –Deep Panuke – Offshore Production Platform – serving as owner’s engineer, HVAC.  Established the HVAC portions of the Design Basis Memorandum and Philosophy documents, reviewed and commented on the HVAC drawings submitted by the design build contractor for conformance to the Design Basis Memorandum and Philosophy.
